When do I contact you?

Be sure to book your session while you are still pregnant! We will meet together at my in-home studio to plan all of the exciting details of your newborn session, customizing it to you and your baby!

When should I book the actual session?

It is best to contact me while you are still in the hospital, so we can schedule your baby’s session within a week.

Why so young?

Your new baby will only fit in your hands for a few short weeks. Newborns can fit into tiny props and curl into amazing positions. 4-10 days old is the time you will get the most stunning photos—photos you will treasure forever!

What can I expect?

In order to book your session, it is necessary to pay the non-refundable $50 retainer fee.

From there, a pre-session consultation will be scheduled, which will be done over the phone.

Each full session lasts 3-4 hours, giving time to go through a variety of poses and setups. It also allows for a relaxed atmosphere, giving time to feed and change baby, as necessary.

This is followed by hours of editing, ensuring a professional, finished touch. (Digital images are ready in 2- 3 weeks.)

Prints, albums, and canvases are of the highest quality, available only to professional photographers. The final outcome: beloved pieces of art, featuring your precious baby!

Do I need to bring any props?

Sometimes parents have something special that they’d like to have in a photo with their baby. While a personal item is welcome, it is by no means required. You will find my in-home studio to have a huge assortment of exciting hats, accessories, wraps, and unique props to choose from!

What kind of products do you offer?

Best images from the session are custom edited and presented in an online gallery with printing rights.

Depending on which full session you choose, all collections come with digital images (with printing rights) and prints. Larger collections come with custom made birth announcements and a gorgeous custom made book or album.

Newborn Session Checklist

What to bring:

~A pacifier. “Soothies” are very good.
~A couple extra soft blankets for baby.
~Extra burp rags.
~Something to eat and drink.
~Extra adult, if possible.
~Second extra adult to take any siblings home after their photos.
~Payment balance.

What to do:

~Limit spicy, gassy and caffeinated foods 24-48 hours prior to session, if nursing.
~Try to keep baby awake 1 or 2 hours before session. A bath or naked time are great ideas!
~Loosen diaper 1 hour before the session.
~Try to have baby fed and burped well right before coming to the session.
~Dress baby in loose clothing; nothing over the head.
~Thoroughly clean off any poop, ointment or powder before coming to the session.
~If planning on being in photos, wear solid, neutral colors: a white, cream or black short sleeve shirt is best for men; a white, cream or black tank top or short sleeve blouse is best for women. For a more artistic photo, men can have their photo taken without a shirt and women can choose to wear a stretch wrap from my studio.
~Wear cool clothes and possibly bring a change of clothes.
~Expect to feed baby more often during the session, to keep baby full and sleepy.
~No picture taking.
~Silence cell phones.
~Anticipate beautiful photos of your precious baby!!!
